We are located on the A496 roughly midway between Maentwrog and Ffestiniog, just by the junction with the B4391.
The nearest train station is Blaenau Ffestiniog. A bus stops close by the house which will take you to Blaenau or Porthmadog from where you can link up to buses for other destinations.
Although a car is not strictly speaking necessary, it would allow you access to some of the minor roads and more remote areas of Snowdonia where you will see the most spectacular scenery.
